Mokey See, Monkey Do!

I was able to get all the monkey blocks done this weekend. Lots of cutting and sewing but worth it. I finished them off with some hand embroidery for the faces. Now on to the flower blocks. :)

Jenna's Quilt Adventure Begins

Jenna's Quilt is based of her bedspread. Instead
of the flowers on the quilt design below.... I will be doing monkeys and new flowers that match the style of Jenna's bedding.

I always have fun picking fabrics and doing quilts
with applique you get to choose more fabrics! Always fun.

Baby Quilts..... I must catch up!

There is a dream... no I must admit nightmare I have every few weeks that reminds me that I am so very behind on the baby quilts that I have promised to make. Once upon a time I was delivering on schedule beautiful quilts laid with appliqué and hand work upon a new babies arrival... but my close friends were BABY CRAZY and decided to have way to many babies all at once. Such is where I now find myself, swamped with baby quilts. Now granted there are much worse things to be swamped in and with... knee high in and neck deep in...I can name a few but I work at a church.. None the less I said I would make them and I will! (Signal French horns)

Ok here is the list......
1. Jenna- Tara's baby girl (already bought fabric and designed quilt)
2. Rebecca- Jessie's baby girl (already bought fabric and designed quilt)
3. Finleigh- Katy's baby girl (I did not promise quilts to them but I made big sister a quilt... so it just makes sense.)
4. Christiaan- Meghan's baby boy (same as above)

I can't be too accurate but I do believe that I am.... 2 years behind? Safe to say? hmmm how old is Jenna? Hey Nicole enough talking and let’s get quilting! (That's me trying to motivate myself at 10pm... I will probably just go to bed and try working on this tomorrow.)

Hand Towels Made By Moi

Well to get back in the swing of sewing again... I made 7 hand towels this weekend. I have been having a bit of dry spell with my sewing and quilting and I decided to start with a small project to get me back in motion. I made a few back in September for my mom’s birthday so I already had the linen blend fabric and then I just used some fat quarters and ribbon from my stash. I also tried using "Wonder Tape" for the first time and that stuff is awesome.... gives you a perfect 1/4 inch seam. The wonder tape saved me so much time.  Hmmm what UFO should I work on next???

To iPhone 4 or not to iPhone 4

Ok so after looking at lots of great blogs, I noticed they all have amazing photos! I currently have an iPhone 3GS and I love it BUT I really wish I could have the HD quality and video quality of the new iPhone 4. Now I have told myself to wait till July when my contract is officially up and then get the new iPhone 5 that they mentioned is coming out this summer. I probably still will do this but I do fight the urge to just go get the 4 now.

Ok so I am just complaining and making a case for my junky photo quality. Do keep that in mind when my photos are not up to par. Thanks for letting me make a quick rant.

I don't even like to write... and now I am blogging?

Well..... It’s a momentous day... I am blogging! Ok really, I have to say that I never thought I would blog. Why the change of heart? I have been surfing the web looking at some really cool creative blogs on quilting and sewing and was inspired. These women throw all kinds of added stuff in their blogs, cooking, family, you tube clips and I think that I might stay away from some of this. I have decided to blog only on creative things... or things that might mess with my creative juices.

So you will most likely see my quilting and sewing projects and knitting attempts, but also my life is based on music and dance... so you might hear and see me singing at an event or performing ballroom dancing. Who knows.... whatever will be posted... is sure to be random.

Hope you enjoy the ride!
